How to watch PlayStation’s State of Play
PlayStation’s October State of Play showcase is kicking off on Wednesday, October 27 at 5pm EST / 4pm CST / 2pm PST / 10pm BST. The event is set to be around 20 minutes. This isn’t a lot of time for multiple third-party games to be shown off in full, so expect a mix of short announcement trailers and gameplay footage. You can catch the live stream over on PlayStation’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
What to expect at PlayStation’s October State of Play Showcase
According to a leak from Reddit (via TheGamer), there is a slew of games Sony will pack into the show. A number of game pages have been updated during the lead-up to the State of Play, including Final Fantasy XVI, Gotham Knights, Tchia, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, Dark Pictures Anthology and Voice of Cards. It’s been a while since we heard any updates from Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XVI, despite rumors suggesting it would be released before the end of 2021. This would be the best way to announce a release date, which may arrive sooner than fans think. Plus, we have yet to hear many details about Gollum. While we recently got a trailer for Gotham Knights, we may finally get an official release date for when it arrives in 2022. As for the Dark Pictures Anthology, we expect a trailer for the upcoming The Devil in Me, along with a possible collection of the first four games in the eight-part series. During the last PlayStation Showcase 2021, we got plenty of announcements, including Marvel’s Wolverine and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, an update on God of War Ragnarök and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, and more.
